Invited Sessions: Invited sessions, specifically solicited by an organizer, consist of five related papers.  Papers in invited sessions are submitted through the regular review process and, if accepted, would be presented continuously. Invited session organizers should submit to the Invited Session Chair a brief statement of purpose for the session as well as the abstract of the papers to be included.

Tutorials and Workshops: Proposals for half day or full day tutorials and workshops should be submitted to the Tutorial/Workshop Chair. Proposals must include (1) statement of objectives, (2) intended audiences, (3) list of speakers, and (4) list of topics.

Focused Issue on Selected papers of AIM2005 in the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics.

Additionally, selected papers with the highest quality will be considered for publication in a Focused Issue in IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics in August 2006.  This Focused Issue contains a selection of revised papers that are presented at the 2005 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics. The review process will be handled as follows: papers with the highest review ratings will be initially considered. The selection will be inspired by the desire of ensuring a wide coverage of relevant topics discussed at the conference as well as geographical balance. The authors of the selected papers will then be invited to prepare revised versions to match typical journal publication standards, which will be sent out to the original reviewers (as well as to additional experts in the relevant fields) for further review. Depending on the outcome of the reviews, a second review cycle may be accomplished. This will result in a final collection of 10-15 papers. Guest editor: Kok-Meng Lee
